Handmade earrings made with 2 good luck knots and large central jing tai lan bead , finished with a Chinese button bead. For the bead, the wiring is first applied by hand and then the gaps made by the outlines are filled with different colours of enamel before firing and finishing. In this case a pink base and gradient white to blue flowers.
Created to resemble to number ‘88’ which represents ‘囍 (shuang xi)’ - double happiness. Eight by itself is an auspicious number which not only represents fortune and luck due to its homophony with the Chinese word for wealth but also has positive connotations in Chinese philosophy of completeness. But 2 eights is even better!
